Breast pads are those little cup-shaped slivers of material that help keep nursing mothers free of embarrassment. They come with brand names like Bamboobies, Madela and Avent Philps. Think of breast pads as little sanitary napkins for your breasts when you're nursing. But of course, you can think of these at other times too. Have you heard how for instance, breast pads make for great makeup-removing sponges? Look at all these great ideas for things you can do with breast pads.

The thing you need to realize about breast pads is that they are made of extremely absorbent material – kind of like diapers or sanitary napkins. There are all kinds of things you can do with them around the house everyday. For instance, do you find yourself short of in-the-face effect when you're dressing up for a night out? If you don't have any push-up bras handy, how about sticking breast pads in there?

If you're going for the bra-free look on a night out and you want only the shapeliness and the jiggliness and no nipple outline showing through your flimsy dress, stick these on. They'll do the job in no time.

The fact that breast pads are super soft and super thin make sense in a number of other places too. Does a new pair of shoes chafe your poor feet? You can do other things – for instance polish your expensive shoes. Wrap them up around your toes before you wear your shoes. Looking for something better than a Band-Aid for cuts and scrapes? These will do.

Keep a package full of these in your handbag, and they'll do wonderfully for all kinds of emergencies. Need to remove makeup? These absorbent things do the trick. How about using these as nail sponges to remove nail polish with? You just need to soak a section with nail polish remover and rub.

Some women like to keep them in their handbags to use as sanitary napkins in a pinch. They are so much smaller than regular napkins, and you could fit a couple in the smallest purse, just in case you start bleeding without warning.

And okay, how about this –if you like to paint with watercolors, you’ll find it’s a great way to soak up extra water on your brush. You just touch the brush to a breast pad, and the water's just gone.
